plot synopsis:
African-American soldiers were sent to Fort Neal, a racially-divided military base, in the 1940's, not to fight in WWII, but to play baseball against other teams of the armed forces.
After the blck Sergeant Waters has been murdered, African-American Captain Davenport is commanded to the base as investigator. At first he suspects that some white men are responsible for the murder, but soon finds out, that almost everybody had a reason to kill Waters.
