In the end of World War II, 20 Jews are being deported to a concentration camp in Austria. Waiting for orders, the Nazi watching them imprisons them in a hayloft of a local farmer. The farmers wife - at first disgusted by the jews - comes to realize their being human and brings them food and water despite her husbands initial outrage. He ultimately agrees for the Jews to stage an operetta using the instruments in the hayloft he had been hiding after his sons death in the war. After Germanys surrender, the fate of the Jews is unclear.
