The documentary shows, how students from Strasbourg visit Struthof, the only German concentration camp in France. They are accompanied by the specialist Professor Robert Steegmann. 60 years after the war history is still present here, but the young french people see it differently from their grandparents.
In 1944 the SS braught all prisoners to Dachau, three days before the American troops reached the camp. So they couldn't find even one of the 52.000 prisoners. In Struthof people were tortured and used for experiments. Half of the 52.000 prisoners died because of that. Also french members of the resistance were imprisoned in the camp. What happend to the perpetrators after the war was over is also shown in the documentary. Als well as Struthof itself, the film is a piece to remember the duty not to forget.
