In 1973 the swedish diplomat Harald Edelstam (1913-1989) was ambassador in Chile. The putsche against Salvador Allende and the takeover of the militairs he lived through. During the second World War Edelstam helped ressistance fighters and jews, in the norwegian ressistance movement he was called “The Black Pimpernelâ€. In Chile he showd the same engagement: he helped Chileans persecuted to get asyl in Sweden.
