The documentary Korengal follows where the film Restrepo was stopped. It provides an insight into the daily lives of American soldiers and their heavy combats against the Taliban in the Korengal Valley in Afghanistan between 2007 and 2008 in order to keep their outpost, called Restrepo, permanently. Until the withdrawal of troops in 2010, 42 American soldiers died there. A mix of interviews and battle shots make this documentary authentic and it shows what thoughts and feelings the soldiers are confronted with on a daily basis. The grueling, military everyday life has such an influence on the men that some do not feel confident that they will ever be able to live a normal life in their homeland again.
