This documentary tells about the deployments of the US-B-17-bomber "Liberty Lily" during WWII.
In 1943 the morale of the American soldiers had worsened due to the loss of so many soldiers and thus a crew for the "Liberty Lily" was created to shoot a propaganda film. The crew should represent the diversity of the American population and the war should be shown as heroic. The pilot Gary, a typical spoiled child from the East Coast, navigator Sam Friedman from a Jewish family from Berlin, mechanic Tony, grown up in "Little Italy", "bomb-thrower" Jim, a farmer from Oklahoma and shooter Jan Kowalski, a Polish worker formed the crew of the plane.
The camera accompanied them on every deployment above Europe. Now there is the question about the authenticity of these exposures.
