plot synopsis:
In 1942 World War II reaches Australia as well. As there is a threatening Japanese invasion the rancher Dan McAlpine shall shoot all of his cattle, so that the enemy won't have it. But McAlpine suggests to take his cattle to the south. With the help of the family Parson, a sailor, a drunkard and two Aborigines he starts the difficult journey about 2000 miles.
