It is winter and the end of World War II is near. A group of partisans, led by Lorenzo, make their way to Genoa. The Germans call them "bandits". Their aim is to arrive at an ordnance factory, where Italian resistance fighters have set up a secret arsenal, to support the partisans. But the operation turns out to be more difficult than they thought, as the factory is controlled by German soldiers. Lorenzo and his men hide in a nearby villa of an ex-diplomat. Masked as a worker Lorenzo contacts the head of the factory. In his office there also works Anna, whose brother collaborates with the Germans and so the question arises, if Anna is a traitor, too.
