This documentary tells the story of an exceptional rescue operation. In March 1945 a young German submarine commander takes over 50 young people in the harbor of Gotenhafen on board, to save them from the Soviet troops. After a journey that takes them four days and leads them through a sea that is full of mines and enemies, the submarine arrives in Travemünde. At the same time about 800 ships with refugees leave eastern Prussia. In the dokumentary survivors talk about their dangerous escape and the circumstances on board.
