plot synopsis:
Drama about the life of the German author Erich Maria Remarque who documented WW I in his novel “All Quiet on the Western Front” which became a worldwide bestseller. The film describes the author’s painful way from WW I until his move to exile in 1933. During this time, he worked as an ad writer and as a reporter for journals dedicated to automobiles. Other important events of his life like his examination of nationial socialism and his escape to Switzerland are also part of this film.
