plot synopsis:
Emilia-Romagna, Italy, 1944, Second World War. During the occupation carried on by the Italian Partisans against the Fascist Italian Movement, the anti-fascist Silvio Corbari kills his fascist friend and publicly takes the responsibility for the crime. Later on, he starts to engage in illegal actions that eventually lead him to found an independent Partisan Brigade, the “Banda Carboni”. If, on the one hand, his courage and bravery grant him a great success, on the other hand, they do not prevent him from being sentenced to death. In fact, on August 12, 1944, he is arrested by order of the Italian Social Republic and then executed.
