The movie “Spitfire over Berlin” is set in August 1944, during an important phase of the Second World War. The US Air Force is planning an all-out attack on Berlin. However, British intelligence receives information indicating that the Americans could be flying into a potentially deadly trap in the German defenses. To avert this impending disaster, British flight lieutenant Edward Barnes (played by Kris Saddler) is recruited for a dangerous reconnaissance mission. His mission is to fly an unarmed Spitfire over Berlin and collect photographic evidence of the German defenses that could help save the lives of 1,200 American soldiers.
With only a few hours left, Barnes must risk everything and get behind enemy lines undetected. He faces the challenging task of evading German air defenses as well as taking the necessary photos and returning safely. The film depicts his challenging mission, balancing between life and death, and shows the courage and sacrifice required in war.
