plot synopsis:
The film deals with the escape of a Polish Jew from a concentration camp, where he leaves his fiancé behind. He spends some time in a Sovjet work camp and meets her again many years after war. In the meanwhile he has become a successful doctor in Paris. She has a son, because she was raped by a guardian in the concentration camp.
