This movie does not only contain fictional scenes but also real-life documentary footage. The main character experiences events of political unrest of three decades. Born in Latin America, he becomes witness of the Allende government in Chile and the Pinochet coup. He moves to Hungary where he finds himself in the crisis and the downfall of the communist regimes all over eastern Europe and in the Soviet Union. Finally, he works as a journalist in Croatia. There, he becomes witness of yet another historical disaster, the Balkans war.
