plot synopsis:
In 1933 the Aristrocratic Gilda begins a passionate affair with Guy, a student in Cambridre. Some years later they meet again in Paris and Guy moves in with Gilda and her friend Mia. The three excentric characters have a great time until the Spanish Civil War and World WAr Two break out. Guy and Mia decide to join the resistance and their ways part.
In 1944 Guy meets Gilda once again in Paris, when he comes there as a secret agent to support the French resistance. He sees Gilda with a German major and is disappointed, but he does not know that Gilda is not the witless and decadent woman he supposes her to be...
