This documentary deals with the bloodiest decisive battle during World War II. In the battle of Stalingrad in winter 1942/43 over 170.000 German and about half a million Soviet soldiers died. The film shows the events from the German attack in summer 1942, to the encirclement in November 1942 and finally to the decline in January 1943. Hitler's ban to capitulate killed a lot of soldiers at a point of time, at that the battle was already lost.
