plot synopsis:
This series deals with two American families and takes place before and during the years of the Civil War from 1861 to 1865. Even though the two families are very different - one comes from the southern states, the other from the northern states - they share an intense friendship, because the sons of both families studied at the West Point military academy together. But when the Civil War breakes out, both men find themselves on diffenrent sides.
