In the mountains of the Taurus in war-time Kurdistan the orthodox syrian monk Hassan discovers the nearly dead pilot and smuggler Youri. The monk brings him to the convent he lives in. While caring for him, he finds a gun in Youri’s suitcase. Soon, Youri exposes himself as a aggressive partisan, who wants to get back his weapons from his left behind aeroplane. Short time later, the monks pick up the kurdish rebel Lalah, who lost her father and gets promised some weapons from Hassan to get her revenge. When Youri wants to search his aeroplane, Hassan and Lalah escape with Youri’s weapons and let him alone in the mountains. Hassan comes in contact with the black market and decides to start a new life with Lalah. But he misprizes the smugglers. Meanwhile, Youri is rescued by merciful kurds again and is in search of the weapons.
