plot synopsis:
The film takes place during World War II and deals with an old childless lady who feels lonely and pretends that a young soldier is her son. She starts sending him letters and cake and reads out letters she received from him to her friends, but in fact she reads out blank paper. When they first meet, the young soldier tells her, that he is an orphan. This is the point from that on the old lady really beliefs her own stories. Her fantasy of motherhood becomes real when they both accept each other as mother and son. After the visit he returns to the front and dies the death of a hero in a special mission. The medal for being a brave soldier is given to his mother, the old lady.
