plot synopsis:
Two British officers, Captain Leith and Major Brand, are to lead a mission stealing important documents from the Nazis in Lybia. Between the two there develops a deadly rivalry when Jane, Brand's wife comes to the base. She and Leith once had a love affair and they now try to hide their relationship, but Brand gets more and more suspicious.
The raid goes smoothly until Brand is unable to kill a German soldier and Leith has to step in to do it. They succeed in stealing the documents and escape to the desert, but then they are attacked by a German patrol and Brand awakes suspicion when he wants to leave Leith with the wounded soldiers behind.
