Albania has long been liberated. On the anniversary of commissar Ibrahim Kovaci's death, his comrades-in-arms accompany the bust of the hero to his native village where a dedication ceremony is to be held. On their way there, each of them recall events and reminiscences linked with the life and struggle of their dead comrade, which, like a mosaic, build up the portrait of the martyr, the figures of his co-fighters and comrades, and the picture of the political and social life in the region where the events take place during the years of the nazi occupation.
