plot synopsis:
The film shows World War II through the eyes of several Dutch men. It shows the whole development of war in the Netherlands: The beginning of the war, the Nazi occupation and the liberation. It deals with resistance fighters, Nazi collaborators and torture by the Gestapo. The film is both, entertainment and a serious movie about the role of the Netherlands in World War II.
