In just one night the work of hundreds of years is destroyed. Until this night Dresden was save, but now the baroque city is destroyed by the bombing of the British troops. In just 24 hours Dresden is a battlefield and 25000 poeple die. The film reconstructs the fall of Dresden on 13th of February 1945 and shows how senseless the destruction in the last days of the war really was. With the help of eye-witnesses things that happened can be reconstructed meticulous. The victims of Dresden as well as the British bomber pilots are allowed to tell their story. The interviews, the reconstruction of scenes and material from the archives draw a clear picture of the bombing during this night in Dresden.
