plot synopsis:
The movie is set during WW2 and deals with actual events happend on the German navy raider Atlantis which aimed for Allied merchant ships. Because of his humanity and his conduct the German real life captain Bernhard Rogge comanding the Atlantis is one of the few German officers who was not arrested by the allied forces. In 1941 after 18 months of succesful raiding the Atlantis was sunk by a British cruiser.
