After the terrorist acts against the USA at the 11. September 2001 and the following publication of the “War against the terror”, director Rademeister goes on a journey to several countries, where she interviews engaged women, who talk about their experiences with the exceptional circumstances before ans after the begin of the war in their homelands. The sorrow in the relevant region is shown as well as the agony of the civil population.
In the Indian New Delhi, Rademeister meets the authoress Arundhati Roy, who is devoted to the pacifism and the fight against the poverty in her country and the way got the “Voice of the third world”.
During her further journey, she occurs Stascha Zajovic in Belgrad (serbia), who is the founder of the “Women in black”, who revolted against the dictatorship of the nationalists and were persecuted by police because of this. During her residence, Rademeister films the “Women in black” at a collective demonstration against the war at the 11. September 2002 with women from the bosnian city Srebrenica, who were once the serbian enemies.
In the afghan city Kabul, the next station at her journey, Rademeister gets to know Jamila Mujahed, who is the editress of the only women’s magazine in Afghanistan. With her, she talks about the despotic rule of the Soviets during their occupation of the country and the following oppression by the fundamentalists.
With the american former barrister Sissy Farenthold Rademeister meets at Houston/ Texas, the last destination of her journey. Farenhold is engaged in human rights and makes it her business to prove the US-government the unlawfulness of the Iraq War.
