plot synopsis:
This anti-western propaganda movie of the GDR deals with the Jew Ruth Bodenheim, who after the war returns to her hometown in West-Germany as a broken woman. She starts a new life and wins strength with the help of her husband. But when the mayor of her hometown - who was responsible for the deportation of Jews - returns, Ruth takes action.
