This documentary is a portrait of the German Protestant theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. who was imprisoned and killed by the Nazis after his plans of an assasination on Hitler were detected. Bonhoeffer openly challenged his church to support the Jews. There are interviews with family members, friends and contemporary witnesses to form a complete picture of the life of an extraordinary man.
