The main character in this 3 part drama is Hanna Berkow. In 1945 she escaped with her family from the destroyed Berlin to Fuerth. Her father was a scientist in a Nazi research institution, where he developed the television system. He sold his idea to Wilhelm Sattler, a businessman. Her father died during the escape to Fuerth without seeing any money.Hanna learned very much from her father about television. Coincidentally the company of Sattler is based in Fuerth. Hanna visits him to get the money he owed to her father. He refuses to pay and instead offers her a job. But she finds a ally in Sattlers son Hans. Together they are trying to start a series production for the television system. This is the beginning of a love story with a bitter ending as Hans chose to marry the daughter of a banker for financial reasons.
