By a dirty trick the Germans manage to capture some members of the Anti-fascist National Liberation council of the village. The occupiers and the local traitors force the councillors to sign a declaration to end their struggle. The men refuse. Crammed in a small hut, surrounded by guards they decide in turn to condemn the traitors to death and plan the escape of their youngest member during the execution so that he can deliver their decision to their comrades.
